Lauxes Grates custom side outlet linear drains are engineered so you can position the outlet anywhere you need along the drain using the matching drill hole provided with your order. Ideal for remodels that require full freedom in outlet placement to match existing plumbing, side-outlet layouts, or tight installation conditions.
A Site-Sizable linear drain with an adjustable side outlet is essential for modern shower remodels, primarily because it solves plumbing conflicts and ensures a perfect aesthetic fit. This drain is mandatory when the existing floor waste pipe cannot be easily moved (especially in concrete slabs or complex joist patterns), as the adjustable side-outlet allows the drain to be shifted to align precisely with the fixed pipe, preventing costly demolition. Furthermore, the site-sizable feature enables the installer to custom-cut the drain channel to achieve an exact, seamless wall-to-wall fit, which is crucial for high-end curbless showers and for maintaining the integrity of large-format tile designs that require only a single, uniform floor slope.
A Tile Insert Linear Drain, or Invisible Drain, uses a recessed tray that holds a piece of the surrounding shower tile, creating a seamless look where water disappears into a slim perimeter gap. It delivers efficient drainage while blending completely into modern, minimalist shower floors. Made from lightweight, rustproof anodized aluminum, the tray maintains precise depth so the tile sits flush with the floor. The insert is also removable for easy cleaning and access to the drain channel.
Choose from two cover styles: the Next Generation perforated design or the Tile Insert option for a seamless tile look. Available in Silk Silver, Midnight Black, and Matte Gold.
Drains are available in standard lengths: 24", 28", 32", 36", 48", 60", 72", and 96", or can be custom cut to your exact measurement. If your required size falls between our regular options, contact us with the exact length you need — we will build the drain to fit your shower perfectly. You drill the outlet location on site exactly where your plumbing plans requires.

Cutting & Installation
If your drain exceeds 96" (8 ft), it will ship in sections and join together with Lauxes Joiners. Sections can be cut onsite for perfect sizing.
- Cut bottom tray 1/8" shorter for end caps.
- Cut top grate 1/32" shorter for a smooth fit.
- Drill the outlet hole with the correct hole saw.
- Seal outlet with silicone and secure under the tray.
Avoid wet cement. Clean with mild soap. Use neutral-cure silicone for tiles.
Warranty
Custom Grates are manufactured to high standards and are covered against manufacturing defects.
Damage from improper installation, misuse, or temperature changes is not covered. Products do not form part of waterproofing.
